Encantadia fails to overtake Probinsyano ratings on pilot week, says Kantar Media-TNS

Encantadia , GMA-7’s much-anticipated fantasy series, failed to make a dent on ABS-CBN’s dominance of the primetime block.

That’s according to the comparative ratings of Kantar Media/TNS for GMA-7 and ABS-CBN programs from July 18 to 22, 2016.

The Kapuso show’s July 18 pilot episode, for example, only netted a 21% rating, almost half of the 42.4% taken by FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

Coco Martin’s action series had continued its huge victory over Encantadia in the following episodes.

In terms of the primetime shows’ ranking, FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano, Dolce Amore, and TV Patrol were consistently ahead of Encantadia.

Meanwhile, Sinungaling Mong Puso was another new Kapuso show that lost to its Kapamilya counterpart.

This Rhian Ramos and Rafael Rosell-starrer that also premiered on July 18 got 10.2%, lower than Doble Kara‘s 17.6%.

ABS-CBN also had new shows, which got better ratings than GMA-7’s Wowowin.

There’s the Pinoy Big Brother Vietnam: Mga Kwento ng Celebrity Housemates, a side show of the primetime reality series, PBB Lucky 7. It replaced We Will Survive.

Another was Minute to Win It: Last Man Standing, a game show being hosted by Luis Manzano. It replaced My Super D on the early primetime slot.

On July 18, Wowowin only garnered 12.8%, while Pinoy Big Brother Vietnam: Mga Kwento ng Celebrity Housemates got 13.9% and Minute to Win It: Last Man Standing had 16.8%.

As previously mentioned, ABS-CBN maintained its dominance on the national ratings game.

There were several Kapamilya shows that reached number one on weekday daytime during the given period: Tubig at Langis on July 18, It’s Showtime on July 19 and 21, and Doble Kara on July 20 and 22.

FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, meanwhile, remained on top for weekday primetime.

The only Kapuso shows that ruled their time slots were Dragon Ball Z (versus Magandang Buhay, Doraemon, Pokemon Black & White, and Bleach), from July 18 to 20, and Bleach (Magandang Buhay, Doraemon, and Pokemon Black & White), from July 21 to 22.

GMA-7’s early morning shows Reporter’s Notebook Replay, i-Witness, Alisto Replay and Tunay na Buhay Replay have also beaten O Shopping the entire week.
