bdentertainment: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) traffic department, army and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) have launched an operation against rickshaw vans hiding hawkers in Shaheed Matiur Park of Gulistan in the capital.
Tuesday (November 12) at noon, this operation was carried out against the vehicles of hawkers occupying the road of Gulistan. About 500 vehicles of hawkers have been seized in the operation.
Tuesday (12 November) from 11 am, the DMP traffic department was supposed to conduct an evacuation operation in Gulistan zero point and surrounding areas. But as the hawkers got to know about the operation, they hid their vans and cars in the nearby park. Therefore, these cars were seized by raiding the park instead of raiding outside.
Nazmul Hasan, additional commissioner of DMP’s traffic department, said, “We conduct raids four times a day in Gulistan.” But when the expedition comes, no car is found on the road. Later we got information that during the operation, the hawkers brought the cars to Shaheed Matiur Park in Gulistan. When the raiding party left, they would come back to the streets. Later, with the help of the city corporation, we raided the parking lot today.
