bdentertainment24 : Muhammad Haroon-ur-Rashid passed away at Ibn Sina Hospital, Dhanmondi today at 02:07 pm due to old age. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun ( إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ ) “To Allah we shall return, and surely to Allah we shall return”.
Late Professor Muhammad Haroon-ur-Rashid was buried next to Jainpuri Baba Huzoor as per his last wish after the Janaza at Kazi Para Baba Huzoor Masjid tonight at 8 o’clock. He is survived by his 2 sons at the time of his death.

Prof. Mohammad Haroon-ur-Rashid is well known as an essayist, translator, educationist, multilingual. He mainly composed thought-provoking works in Bengali and English languages. His translation is as pleasant as the original works written in Bengali. The vivacity and breadth of thought which had appeared in him at a young age grew and matured day by day. His articles are not many in number. But deeper in meaning. His study of religion, philosophy, literature of home and abroad and his awareness of country-time-society have made this collection of essays by Muhammad Harun-ur-Rashid of second-to-none value. Aesthetics of religion and other topics in the book’s essays literally opened a new door to the world of thought in this country. Renowned professor as an essayist and translator. Muhammad Haun-ur-Rashid’s notable works: Three Poems, Three French Essays, The Art of Words, etc. Professor Muhammad Haroon-ur-Rashid’s works in languages like Bengali, English, French etc. are few but precious.
