This time Obaidul Quader’s PS Mateen was arrested

★Awami League general secretary and former road transport and bridge minister Obaidul Quader’s personal assistant (PS) Abdul Matin has been arrested by the police.

He was arrested from his home in Char Washpur village of Shakta Union in Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka on Sunday night.

The arrested Abdul Matin is the Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League.

According to the police, Abdul Mateen was in hiding since the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5. On the night of November 10, he was arrested from his home in Keraniganj based on secret information. Mateen’s house was later searched.

Earlier, the law enforcement forces arrested Obaidul Quader’s wife’s elder brother Nurul Haque Babu from Halishahar in Chittagong on Saturday. However, he was released on Sunday after questioning on various issues.
