★The leaders and activists of the People’s Rights Council held a torch procession in front of Bangabhaban.
The activists of the People’s Rights Council held a torch march in front of Banga Bhavan against the new advisor of the interim government, businessman Sheikh Bashir Uddin.
On Sunday evening, after Sheikh Bashir Uddin took oath, they held a torch procession in front of Banga Bhavan. At that time, the leaders and activists of the People’s Rights Council raised slogans like ‘Awami League advisor Mani Na, Manab Na’ etc.
Sheikh Bashir Uddin is the Managing Director of Akiz-Bashir Group, the country’s leading industrial conglomerate. He is the son of Sheikh Akiz Uddin.
A Constituent Assembly worker who participated in the torch march said that the brother of Awami League’s former MP Afil Uddin will not be accepted in the advisory council. He also raised questions on the basis of which Bashir Uddin was placed in the interim government that came at the cost of thousands of lives.
Mahmudul Haque Shipon, president of Sramik Odhikar Parishad Mahanagar North, said that the industrial establishments of the country are pro-Awami League. During the regime of Awami League, industrial establishments were looted in Bangladesh. Akiz Group is a member of that family. Now if advisors are made from that family, then the interim government will also become like Awami League. So we are agitating that no advisor should be given from any industrial group.
People’s Rights Council activists demanded the immediate removal of Sheikh Bashir from the advisory council.
